Job Overview
We are looking for a creative and dynamic Video Editor to join a growing News Channel. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of digital video content and be comfortable working on fast-paced news and current-affairs content.
The role will involve editing news videos, YouTube content, breaking-news videos and other social media content. We are looking for someone with a good eye for storytelling who can work quickly, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing news trends and requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Edit YouTube long-form news videos, interviews, news packages, reels, and short-form content.
- Edit breaking-news and trending-news videos with quick turnaround times.
- Create engaging content for YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and other digital platforms.
- Add captions, headlines, graphics, transitions, background music, sound effects, and other visual elements where required.
- Ensure videos are accurate, engaging, visually appealing, and aligned with the channel's style.
- Work closely with the news, content, and social media teams to understand story requirements and deliver videos on time.
- Select and arrange relevant footage, images, interviews, and other visual elements to support news stories.
- Maintain consistency in the channel's visual style, branding, and editing standards.
- Stay updated with current news, social media trends, video formats, and platform best practices.
- Handle multiple video projects and prioritize urgent/breaking-news content when required.
Job Requirements
- Fresher's with exceptional video editing skills are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in news media, digital media, YouTube channels, or social media content will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of editing videos for YouTube, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and deliver content quickly, especially for breaking news.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in news-related content.
- Basic knowledge of motion graphics, text animation, and visual effects is an added advantage.
- Creative mindset with the ability to learn new editing styles and adapt to changing requirements.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the editorial and content teams.
